Class Description:
This class is focused fully on providing great quality massage work to the neck without using the fingers.
In today’s cultures so many people are coming in for focused massage work to their neck. This type of massage is usually taught using lots of techniques that are very heavy on the fingers. If you have 10 clients each week that come in with the request of focused neck work it can do a number on the fingers and hands.
In this class we will explore many different ways and techniques that can approach neck focused massage without heavy use of the fingers.
Learning Objectives:
List, label, and palpate the muscles of the neck
Identify the 4 client positions that can be used for ‘no finger neck work’
List common client complaints of the neck and how to approach them with ‘no finger neck work’
Build confidence in working on the neck with other body parts that aren’t fingers
Learn hand and finger saving techniques (what every LMT wants all the time)
Perform at least 15-20 minutes of ‘no finger neck work’
Learning Outcomes: After completion of this class students will confidently be able to perform focused neck massage
